The "liability shift" for fraudulent transactions between merchants and banks is currently April 1, 2021, for fuel pumps. Visa and MasterCard have delayed this date multiple times and are unlikely to do it again.

NATSO is encouraging any fuel retailer who is unable to upgrade their systems in time for the April 1 deadline to take the following steps:
