NATSO Analysis: EPA Expected to Grant Small Refinery Waivers

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is expected to announce this week that it will grant at least 20 small refinery exemptions under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for compliance year 2019 despite the ruling last year by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals that EPA did not have authority to issue these waivers.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is expected to announce this week that it will grant at least 20 small refinery exemptions under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) for compliance year 2019 despite the ruling last year by the 10th Circuit Court of Appeals that EPA did not have authority to issue these waivers. Currently 32 petitions are pending for the 2019 compliance year.
